Christopher Fleming - Choreographer - Master Teacher

One of America's most prolific choreographers, Mr. Fleming has mounted a 
number of major new works in the past few years. 2001 saw the premieres of 
major new works in The Czech Republic and Russia. The hour length major work 
Dvorak Dances was commissioned for the Grand Reopening of the Dvorak Opera 
House in Ostrava, The Czech Republic. It included the Czech National Ballet, 
Opera and Orchestra and provides a sweeping look at the life of composer 
Anton’n Dvorak. Valery Mikhailovsky's St. Petersburg Male Ballet presented 
two Fleming premiere's in St. Petersburg, Russia including Season Ticket 
Holder
a mad cap romp through the standard classical ballet repertoire.

Play Ball! - The Dayton Ballet


In February of 2000, The Ohio Ballet presented the acclaimed premiere of The 
Edge of Assurances
. The Ohio Ballet also presented (in a co commissioning 
with The Dayton Ballet) Mr. Fleming's baseball themed work, Play Ball! 
Presented to rave reviews and enthusiastic audiences Play Ball! is currently 
under consideration by a number of major companies. (sets and costumes are 
available for rent) 

Mr. Fleming will choreograph Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel for Temple 
University Opera in the fall of 2002 and will be Choreographer in Residence 
for the Sarasota Opera's 2003 Spring repertory season. He is also slated to 
premiere another major work for Dayton Ballet in 2003.

As a member of the New York City Ballet, Mr. Fleming danced solo and 
principal roles in works by Balanchine and Robbins and led a group of New 
York City Ballet dancers on tour in Europe presenting his choreography as 
well as works by Mr. Balanchine. Mr. Fleming has directed for the stage an 
international tour of the play K2 and choreographed the world premiere of 
Honky Tonk Angels, the Garth Brooks musical. His work was recently 
Off-Broadway in Anne Frank and Me at the American Jewish Theatre and he in 
December of 2000 he choreographed the world premiere of the musical version 
of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe at the Prince Music Theater in 
Philadelphia where he also recently choreographed Candide!

Mr. Fleming is a frequent contributor and collaborator with International 
Arts & Entertainment Group, as the Resident Choreographer for Circus Nexus as 
well as choreographing such major events as the Grand Opening of TITANIC - 
The Exhibition


Mr. Fleming currently serves as the Assistant Director of The Rock School of 
The Pennsylvania Ballet.
