Bryan Shuler - Composer

Fullbright Fellow, Composer/pianist, Bryan Shuler has been writing for and 
accompanying dance troupes over the past twenty years. He has worked closely 
with The Star Dancer Ballet of Tokyo, The Tampa Ballet, Ghana National Dance 
Company and Busch Entertainment as well as holding staff positions at 
University of South Florida and the Florida State University Dance 
Departments. His composition Song Of The Helix received national attention as 
this unusual composition utilizes numerical data from the DNA of the HIV 
virus in it's compositional process. It has been utilized in AIDS related 
events through out the United States and was featured on National Public 
Radio. In 1992-1993, Mr. Shuler traveled to Africa as the Composer in 
Residence for the Ghana National Dance Company. His extensive experience 
includes working with Ann Reinking, Tommy Tune and accompanying 
internationally known pianist and radio host Karl Haas. Mr. Shuler studied 
piano performance and theory, and holds Masters and Doctoral degrees in 
Humanities, Electronic Composition and Ethno-Musicology.
