Wows Hilton Audience in The Big Easy!

"Amazing!, Magnificent!, Wonderful!" just a few of the words of praise from
the three Senior Vice President's of Hilton Hotels responsible for Hilton
Garden Inns, Hampton Inns and Homewood Suites after the performance of
POWER!
at the Hilton Hotel conference January 22, 2002 in New Orleans.
Dance, Acrobatics, BMX, Gymnastics, Aerial Artists with a nice dose of
comedy, were combined in a skillfully staged, high energy and highly
theatrical production that thrilled Hilton audiences at the opening
convocation of their four day meeting. POWER! consisted of eighteen
performers plus six staff that were assembled for this special production
created just for the conference. Three elaborately staged production numbers
graced the two hour meeting of Hilton Hotel owners and executives in the
Auditorium of the Ernest Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.
Not only did CIRCUS NEXUS performers literally fly all over the theater, but Hilton
Senior Vice President Phil Cordell made his grand entrance "flying" in by
wire on rigging provided by the production. Special comic entrances for all
three executives were staged as part of the curtain call for the opening
production number. At additional meetings that day, CIRCUS NEXUS performers
interacted with Hilton Vice Presidents to help demonstrate such important
business concepts as "Trust, Strength and Power."
The production combined elements of dance, acrobatics, rhythmic gymnastics,
BMX bike riding, as well as aerial acts such as Spanish Web, Trapeze, Tissu
and Russian Strap in a tightly staged and choreographed production that was
supervised and directed by Producer Keith Arsenault and choreographed by
noted dance and stage choreographer, Christopher Fleming.
Due to the audio visual elements and sight lines in the auditorium, all
aerial rigging was specially installed as to not appear until the exact
moment that it was needed and to disappear again back into the overhead grid
as soon as it was finished. CIRCUS NEXUS installed a state of the art winch for
the use of both Tissu and Strap artists in the production as well as other
aerial effects. There were no pauses or delays in the event while apparatus
were put in place or removed.
Featured Artists included, Iliana Ivanova, former member of the Bulgarian
National Rhythmic Gymnastic Team, Laura Witwer on the Aerial Tissu, Monte
Carlo Grand Prix du Cirque Silver Clown Winner Almas Meirmanov on the Russian
Strap, BMX stunt rider Bill Freeman and the famed Comedian and Aerialist,
Giovanni Zoppe.
